area of the Anglican
Diocese of Liverpool are supported by the Liverpool and Wigan branches
of the Lancashire Association of Change Ringers (LACR). Towers
in Wirral fall in the Wirral
branch of the Chester Diocesan Guild of Church Bell Ringers (CDG). Ringing at St Francis Xavier, Everton
(SFX) is organised by the Liverpool Universities Society of Change
Ringers (LUSCR),
who welcome students and staff from all institutes
of higher education across Merseyside and nearby parts of Cheshire and
Lancashire. There are towers in the Liverpool and Wigan branch areas at Aughton (Christ Church), Aughton (St Michael), Bootle, Childwall, Coppull, Douglas-in-Parbold, Everton (St Francis Xavier (SFX)), Farnworth (Widnes), Garston, Great Crosby, Hale, Halewood, Halsall, Hindley, Huyton, Liverpool (Pier Head), Liverpool Cathedral, Liverpool Municipal Building, Much Woolton, Newton-le-Willows, Ormskirk, Prescot, Rainford, Rainhill (St Ann), Rainhill (St Bartholomew), Sefton, Southport (Christ Church), Southport (Crossens), Southport (Emmanuel), St Helens (Eccleston), St Helens (St Helen, the Parish Church), Standish, Tuebrook, Upholland, Walton-on-the-Hill, West Derby, Wigan (All Saints, the Parish Church), Wigan (Poolstock) and Winwick. Towers in the Wirral branch area are at Bebington, Bidston, Bromborough, Burton, Capenhurst, Eastham, Heswall, Moreton, Neston, Oxton (Birkenhead), Port Sunlight, Rock Ferry, Shotwick, Thurstaston, Upton, Wallasey (St Hilary), Wallasey (Liscard), Wallasey (St Nicholas), West Kirby and Woodchurch. LUSCR welcomes students and staff from institutions including the University of Chester, Edge Hill University, Liverpool
University, Liverpool Hope University, the Liverpool Institute for
Performing Arts (LIPA) and Liverpool John Moores University (LJMU). Merseybells hopes to provide information for ringers across all or part of the Boroughs of Halton, Knowsley, St Helens, Sefton, Warrington, West Lancashire and Wirral, the City of Liverpool, and West Cheshire and Chester. Inclusion of towers and institutions in these lists should not be taken to imply any
- association with church bodies, ringing associations or branches;
- availability for ringers;
- degree of ringability;
